2009 Boston Folk Festival ticket prices increase August 2
It will be a much more intimate event than ever before, with a great line-up including Dar Williams (in photo), Jeff Black, Jill Sobule, Aiofe Clancy, Kerri Powers, Cindy Bullens, Alastair Moock, the Boston T Party, Jake Armerding and many others! Tickets are on sale now for the 2009 Boston Folk Festival on September 12 and 13, but prices will increase August 2. More info here on the Festival. Woodstock 40th Anniversary
August 15th will mark the 40th anniversary of the legendary Woodstock Festival which included artists such as Arlo Guthrie, Joan Baez, Richie Havens, The Grateful Dead and many more. Click here for more info about Woodstock. WUMB will have its own tribute to Woodstock starting Friday August 14th with special music all day long, and continuing into Saturday and Sunday as well.

WUMB Member Concert with Will Dailey
The next WUMB Member Concert will be with local singer-songwriter Will Dailey! Will’s had a busy couple of years, and is currently involved in a year long music project called Torrent. The concert will be on August 19th at UMass Boston. We’ll also have the debut of our most recent Member Concert with The Mystix on August 6th at 6:00 p.m. Click here for more information.

Special Ramblin’ Jack Elliott Interview

- A new supergroup featuring Jim James, M. Ward, and Conor Oberst is being called “Monsters of Folk”. They have a new album on the way and an upcoming Fall tour.
- Rosanne Cash is finishing up a new album of covers titled “The List” featuring songs by Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Jeff Tweedy and more
- Elliot Smith (did the soundtrack for “Good Will Hunting”) and Bob Dylan will both have songs featured in the next Guitar Hero video game.
