Please join us in welcoming the Aquarium's newest resident Ivan!

Ivan the North American river otter is a three-month-old rescue.  He was found by a family in St. Petersburg after being attacked by a hawk.  The family believes his mom died as  result of an alligator.  He is currently seven pounds and will eventually entertain and educate Aquarium guests on exhibit.  Due to his age at the time of his rescue, he is not a candidate for release back into the wild.  North American river otter pups stay with their mother until they reach an adult age.  Ivan has not had enough time in the wild to survive on his own.

Keep your eyes peeled on the otter exhibit for his debut.
