The staff ate a lot of these.

Again this year HCLL held a contest during National Library Week, April 18-24.  Staff wrapped 291 miniature Hershey bars with brightly colored labels representing popular print titles from the library’s collection.  We put them in a big jar at the circulation desk with a sign challenging patrons to guess the number of “books” in the jar.  We included law reviews, CFR volumes, reporter volumes, and treatises.

The contest winner was Larry McGee, who works in County Commissioner Penny Steele’s office.  His guess was 283 books, just 8 short of the correct total. His prize was a Barnes and Noble gift certificate.  Congratulations, Larry!

Featured Web Site
Soft-focus graphic of a house of blocks.Did you know that the Uniform Conveyancing Blanks are now available on the Department of Commerce’s web site?  The site is still under construction, so not all the forms are available at this time, but it does contain 92 forms, including quit claim deeds, contracts for deed, and warranty deeds.

The Hennepin County Law Library maintains a link to the Uniform Conveyancing Blanks on its Find a Form web page. This page includes links to an assortment of legal forms available on the web, including popular forms such as the Minnesota Residential Purchase Agreement and the Power of Attorney Short Form.
