Botany Class Needs Donations
The new botany class at CCHS needs donations of egg cartons (prefer paper vs. Styrofoam ones), seeds (older, out-of-date, & open packages okay), plastic/clay pots of all sizes, potting soil, gardening tools, etc. (we are not expecting you to buy anything...look in your garrage and see what you have!) We are also interested in plant donations.

Valentine's Day Flower Order
The Junior Class has begun taking orders for the Valentine Flower sale. You can have flowers delivered (locally) to your "Honey," hair dresser, mother-in-law, etc. See any JUNIOR, and order your flowers today! Questions? Contact Mrs. Lizano (lizano.lisa@cchs.us).

Office Depot
CCHS participates in Office Depot's 5% Back to School's program. When you shop at Office Depot, give our school number, and CCHS receives credits equal to 5% of the qualifying purchases to use for free supplies. The school number for CCHS is 70212994.

Nate Ustainowski committed to play football for the Abilene Christian University Wildcats in Abilene, Texas next year. Pictured here is Nate with the Abilene colors. CCHS is proud of Nate and his accomplishments. Nate will be missed on the Warrior team. We'll be excited to follow Nate's progress in college football!

The on-line re-enrollment deadline is February 3. 1. Log on to your RenWeb account and click the re-enrollment link on the left. Follow the instructions given. 2. Electronically sign where indicated that you and your child have read the Statement of cooperation. 3. Pay the re-enrollment fee ($150 through February 3 - after that date it is $275 and increases each month) 4. Return the Financial Agreement (signed) to the School Office. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Peabody (peabody.cindy@cchs.us ).

SCRIP NEWS
A new addition has been added to our SCRIP family;the SCRIP Box!. The SCRIP Box is operated by Mrs. Steffanetta (school office 449 2247/ steffanetta.sharon@cchs.us) and currently has American Eagle, Bath & Body, Boston Market, Cracker Barrel, Dillard’s, Dunkin Donuts, Family Christian, Panera Bread, and Starbucks cards. You can still place orders for other cards, but if you're in a pinch and need a gift, remember CCHS SCRIP!

Interact Community Service Fair

Kudos to the Interact Club for the Community Service Fair they hosted Thursday. All students were able to attend the fair which was held in the Gym. Eleven vendors came and displayed opportunities for students to volunteer in the community. Among the vendors were, City of Clearwater, Habitat for Humanity, Hospice, Footprints Ministry, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Calvary Baptist Church Children's Ministry, Red Cross, Keep Pinellas Beautiful, 2-11, and the Interact Club. Junior Thomas Hooten said he is going to get involved with "Big Brothers" as a result of the fair. Kathryn Steffanetta expressed an interest in the Footprints Ministry that collects shoes and distributes them to the needy.
Remember students need 100 Community service hours to graduate (a total of 25 per year in attendance at CCHS). There are Community Service opportunities posted on the bulletin board on the third floor.

That's Amore Italian Dinner
The date is February 11, 2008. Carrabba's Italian Grill is pleased to host "That's Amoré Italian Dinner" to benefit the CCHS Senior Class of 2008. Dinner will be served from 6:00pm - 7:30 pm.The evening events include a silent auction from 5:45 pm - 7:45 pm, and a live auction and a performance by pianist Bernie Blankenship. If you have friends and family in the area that you think would enjoy an evening of great food, and a chance to bid on exceptional items, all for a great cause (2008 Senior trip and mission trips), let them know! Seniors are selling tickets @ $15 each. The deadline to buy tickets is February 4th, so get your tickets soon!!
