Verse of the Week

Regarding life together and getting along with each other, you don't need me to tell you what to do. You're God-taught in these matters. Just love one another! You're already good at it; your friends all over the province of Macedonia are the evidence. Keep it up; get better and better at it. 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10 The Message

Communtiy Service & College Acceptances
College Acceptance: It is the time of year when seniors are starting to hear from various colleges that they have been accepted. To see where students have been accepted, click here:  http://www.cchs.us/Guidance/college_acceptances.htm  If you have received a letter of acceptance, and your name is not here, bring a copy of the letter to Mrs. Peabody.

Community Service: Don't forget to turn in your community service hours. Students that worked in Judgement House get full "CCHS hours" for any hours worked (even if it exceeds 10). Click below for Community Service form.

Home Run!

Thursday evening, parents, staff, and students convened at the Harborview Center to "Celebrate a Christian Education;" particularly, a Christian education at Calvary Christian High School. What a blessing to hear the hearts of teachers, Lisa Lizano, Jon Seals, Greg Thiel, and Angie Ewbank as they talked about Christian education in relation to Academics, Arts, Athletics, and Spiritual Development, respectively. Not only did we hear from faculty, but also a student represented each topic. Joe Spoerl shared about Academics, Adrienne Kidwell told about her experience and spiritual growth through Art, Thomas Hooten shared poignantly about his experiences with Athletics, and Tavya Benjamin spoke eloquently about her spiritual development through Christian education.

ACSI Regional Director, and CCHS parent, David Ray, told about the opportunities he has to share with others around the country about Calvary Christian High School. The CCHS Choral Ensemble sang, and even led a robust "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." The evening concluded with an entertaining, yet "home run" speech by John Zeller, Exec. VP of Score International, reminding us of the main thing...knowing Jesus Christ as our personal savior. Pastor Willy Rice concluded the evening, telling us of his personal commitment to Christian education, and encouraging us to be committed as well...."everybody can do something."

CCHS and CBC DRIVE HS Youth Event

Come and hang out at the Compass in Safety Harbor (401 Second Street) Sunday night 6:00 - 7:30. This event doesn't really have a name (right now it is called "High School Youth Event"), but it does have a purpose...a place for high school kids to hang out, talk to people, eat (of course!), and share. We think you will like the coffee house atmosphere. So bring a friend (high school only), and check it out. The High School Youth Event is sponsored by Calvary Baptist Church Youth Ministry in partnership with CCHS. For more information

This is the time of year when seniors are applying to college. CCHS prepares up to six transcripts with no charge. Subsequent transcripts are $2 each.

It would be good for all students to start their Brag Sheet. This will help underclassmen when it comes time to start the college application process to be able to remember what they did in the early high school years. Upperclassmen will need this information when applying for scholarships, writing your admission essays, and applying for various awards. http://www.cchs.us/Resources/Forms/brag_sheet.pdf
