| Technology Licencing: AQUA |
|
AQUA is ready to fly... or perhaps more aptly, ready to swim! AQUA is an underwater robot with unique flippers that also allow it to walk on land. It is a complete system with forward- and rear- facing cameras and a teleoperation control station. The research team is accepting offers from sponsors to help commercialize AQUA or licence agreements for pending patents. Research was carried out in Canada at McGill University in Montréal by Greg Dudek, at York University in Toronto by Michael Jenkin and at Dalhousie University in Halifax by Evangelos Milios. A large part of the funding for the project came from the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (IRIS), a Network of Centres of Excellence managed by Precarn Incorporated.
