Verse of the Week
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 NIV

Alum Gino Steffanetta Receives West Point Ring

This past weekend, Gino Steffanetta (CCHS '05) received his class ring with other Class of 2009 West Point cadets.  As far as records show, the US Military Academy was the first school to use rings as a unified symbol.  The motto of his class is "For Your Freedom and Mine" which is part of the class crest on one side of the ring.  When a West Point graduate dies, his/her class ring is returned to the academy where it is melted into the metal used to make the next year's class ring.  This year had the largest number of additions, which included a few rings from graduates still living who wanted to keep the "long gray line" going.

Gino is pictured with Col. Barry Willy, leader of the Officer Christian Fellowship at West Point.

School Picture Retakes

School picture retakes are Friday, September 26th. Students that wish to have their picture re-taken will need to return their pictures to the photographer. Those students that were absent on picture day in August will also have their picture taken. Students getting pictures taken may wear a shirt of their choice (no advertizing on shirts; girls must be modest). School-wide reprints will be distributed Monday, Sept. 22 (there was a problem with the color on some pictures, and the entire batch was reprinted).
