IT'S ABOUT YOUR LIFE; not about your fat!
EVOLVE! (Don't just improve.) Improve means to do something better. Evolve, however, means that you permanently and fundamentally change a part of who you are.
Janice Taylor is an inspiration! Through hypnosis, movement, talk, and art, Janice changed my mind and gave me the emotional strength I needed to change my body. ~ AH
While working with Janice, I not only 'permanently removed' over 20 pounds, I changed my life. I got so much more than I'd bargained for - ME! Profound stuff. I heartily recommend Janice as a coach. ~ MEMcG

It's a WRAP! (the non-food kind) In my early 'permanent fat removal days' (weeks and months), I often rewarded my stellar fat-melting efforts and celebrated my newly found self with a gift. Something that would be in alignment with the new me. One of my favorite gifts was a dazzling, colorful scarf that I wrapped and draped in a variety of ways. Anthropologie, a very cool store that has numerous locations through-out the country and an on-line store!
HOW COOL is this??? An OLofWL water bottle, to help keep you hydrated! Available through Our Lady's Cafe Press shop! (which is different then her website shop of greeting cards and 10 Commandment Cards!
I know it's a bit pricey, however, it's a one-time purchase, way cheaper to carry water than to buy bottled water. And plastic bottles are way bad for the planet and you! Plus, the bottle is beautifully crafts, by one of the leading environmental friendly manufacturers SIGG.
What products excite you? Write me!
Check out Our Lady's shop! Glorious Greeting Cards, 10 Commandment Cards and more!

Happy Weight Loss
Hi Tushketeers ~ How is everyone? Things here are peachy keen as they used to say. Nothing big to report.
I did want to remind you though that I am going to be at Wainwright House, in Rye, New York on August 15 for their 4th Annual Healing Arts Fair, A Day of Lectures, Intuitive Mini-Sessions and Mini-workshop samplers and a Marketplace on the Waterfront (shopping alert! whoa). That's right, Tushketeers, you can come to see/hear my "Weight Loss Warrior" lecture, and you can schedule a lazer (15 minute one-on-one) Intuitive Life Coaching session.
What is Intuitive Life Coaching? Intuitive Life Coaching is a form of coaching in which your coach (in this instance, me) has the ability to 'intuit' with you (to know, to sense and understand with quick and ready insight) in a deep and meaningful way.
As a skilled, active listener, I connect with you and then reflect back to you information about you with great clarity, enabling you to gain a deeper understanding of who you are. Together, we can shed light on what is blocking you, on what is stopping you and ultimately clear your path so that you can manifest what you desire.
Intuition is not magic, although it may feel that way at times. Intuition is like listening. It is a powerful talent that can be used to help clients move into action or deepen their learning.
I do hope that you will be able to attend the Wainwright Healing Arts Fair. However, if you do not live in the Tri-State (New York) area, and are interested in one-on-one Intuitive Life Coaching and/or Weight Loss Coaching, please write me. It is always my pleasure to offer you a complementary session.
Now on to your Monday morning Kick, which is overflowing with motivation, recipes, shopping tips ... in other words, big platters of delicious life. Enjoy!
Spread the word … NOT the icing!

Fat Daughter: A Punishment from God?
Dear Our Lady of Weight Loss ~ My daughter is fat and it is breaking my heart. Please help me to help her lose weight. ~ Parent of Fat Girl
WARNING: My head is spinning, and it may well explode. Not pretty!
I have this month (and we are only 3/4 of the way through it) received a record number of emails from readers seeking advice on how to 'fix' their child. Actually, now that I think about it, they were asking advice on how to 'fix' their daughters. Not a fat son amongst us? Anyway - that's another topic, hey? ... I do digress.
All those missives gave me a headache, as I flashed-back to my troubled 'fat' youth and the memory of my mother, on one particularly trying day, saying to me through tear-stained eyes, "It's such a shame that you have such a big behind."
Shame delivered, picked-up and packed-on!
And so, to those who are thinking, "Wow, my child is fat. How can I fix her?" I'd like to give you a Kick in the Tush, and serve up a few choice words Our Lady of Weight Loss style!
Our Lady of Weight Loss's Eight Honest,
Straight and Digestible Points of "LITE"
for You and Your Child
1. Knock it off! I could be wrong (rarely :), but it sounds to me like you are more concerned about your broken heart than the health and happiness of your child. Get over yourself. Remove yourself from the equation. This isn't about you!
2. Punishment from God? A 'weight loss' reduction program/conversation is more than likely going to be perceived by your child as a form of punishment. And why wouldn't it be? Don't you think of 'dieting' as one of the great injustices and punishments in your life?
3. Get Moving. Are you (and the family) gathering around the boob-tube each and every night, snacking together as you watch "The Biggest Loser?" Or are you setting up a game of badminton or horseshoes in your backyard? How about joining or creating a family bowling league? For you apartment dwellers, how about a game of twister?
4. Eat Healthy. Are you eating healthfully? What foods are you serving? What kind of snacks do you have in your home? Do not even think about telling me that you 'have to' buy chips, chocolate and cookies for your husband or son - or for the matter for the other skinny sister.
5. Educate Yourself and Your Child. Rather than harping on the negative, i.e. your child's big behind, why not learn about nutrition and talk up the health benefits of watermelon? And definitely learn the art of reading a food label! Teach yourself and your child!
6. Happy Mealtime. Make mealtime a happy family time. Sit down and discuss the highlights of your day over a plethora of fresh vegetables, whole grains, and organic foods a plenty.
7. Shop Together. Ask for your child's input. Sit down and create a list of high-nutrient foods. If your child says, "I'd really like a chocolate donut." See if you can figure in one sweet (perhaps, a one-oz. square of dark chocolate) along with a fruit salad. And if your child still wants the donut, buy one tiny pack of pre-portioned mini-donuts. Remember God's 10 Commandments and the forbidden fruit!
8. Love Trumps Fat. Love yourself and your child just as you are. There is nothing 'wrong' with your child. She does not need to be 'fixed.' Open your eyes. Witness the true beauty of the person who is standing before you.
Bottom line.
Be aware of the message that you are putting down for your child to pick up.
Lead by example. Create a happy and healthy home.
Spread the word ... NOT the icing,
Janice
Weight Loss God Winks? No Excuses?
Do you believe in God Winks? The dictionary meaning of a God wink is "something taken as evidence that a higher power is at work; a coincidence."
SQuire Rushnell, author of "When God Winks at New Beginnings," Beliefnet blogger brother, says that a God Wink gives us a "sense of comfort at a time when you are looking for hope." God Winks are hugs of comfort from God. Little things that happen every day.
Well, this past week, I think God winked at me, but I'm not exactly sure if He winked, or just gave me a kick in the tush. ... Read On!
Drop Dead Diva: Thin Girl Dies, Steps Into Fat Body
Drop Dead Diva, starring the uber-talented and lovely Brooke Elliott, premiered on Lifetime last night, and let me say right up front, this Beliefnet.com blogger LOVED IT! I mean, who doesn't love a good transformation!
The Premise: Deb, a blonde, size 0, vapid, aspiring model crashes her top-down sports car into a truck that is transporting oranges. The visual of Deb and her car buried in thousands of oranges adds a colorful and 'light' touch to her death. ... Read On!
Gastric Bypass Surgery: How much is fat costing America?
This afternoon I stumbled upon an interesting article in the Las Vegas Sun that got me all fired up as it posed the following question: "If gastric bypass saved you money for morbidly obese people to have weight loss surgery, would you suggest they do it?"
The article clearly skewed toward "the knife," listed a variety of interesting statistics that argued that fat people are costing the taxpayers lots of money. ... Read On!
Planet Earth: Insatiable appetites. Bottomless pits.
Generally speaking, I am an optimist. My glass is half full, and I truly live in a state of gratitude for all that I do have. I am a happy person, living the rules of happiness. Nevertheless, I am not a happy idiot.
There are some very troubling facts circulating out there about our environment that many people seem to be glazing over, not terribly interested in and/or think that these facts just can't be real. Denial is a wonderful thing.
I was so troubled by the way we are treating our precious Earth and ourselves that I sought out Elizabeth Lesser, co-founder and senior adviser of Omega Institute for Holistic Studies (the largest adult center in the United States focusing on health, wellness, spirituality and creativity), and author of Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow and A Seeker's Guide: Making Your Life a Spiritual Adventure, hoping that she might help me make sense of our collective consciousness or unconsciousness, depending on how you look at it, and to learn about the progress that Omega is making in the field of sustainability.
What gives? Are we human beings on a self-destruct mission? Are we so attached to large piles of money, big houses, big cars and large portions that we can't see the forest from the trees? How much longer can we go on this way without imploding?
Here follow the facts, followed by the highlights of my conversation with Elizabeth Lesser. ... Read On!
Kick in the Tush Club Chapters (for your meetings!)
Question of the week . . . Discuss amongst yourselves.
In order to permanently lose weight, we need to dig deep and bring on the passion.
Motivation is not task driven. It's all about emotion. It's fire driven. And ... you've got to fuel your passion (just like you have to fuel your body and fuel your car!). You have to set yourself a goal that connects to an all consuming desire.
How to Move from Stuck to Unstuck
Our Lady of Weight Loss believe that questions are powerful. They automatically shift your mind into a different space. Questions can move you from stuck to unstuck.
Here are some questions from Our Lady of Weight Loss that will help you to dig deep, tap into your core strengths and find your passion!
What gives you lasting satisfaction?
What energizes you?
What makes your heart sing?
Please answer these questions in your Our Lady of Weight Loss notebooks, so that you can keep adding to your thoughts and insights as the day and week moves along.

Chewing the Fat
Dear OLofWL ~ I’ve never written anyone about my weight problem before so here goes. I am 5’4” and I weigh 215 pounds. "This" all started about fifteen years ago. I used to walk 2-3 miles every day, and I loved it. Then, one day I fell down and bruised both my knees, followed by another fall just six months later.
The doctor told me to try to keep up with my regular routine, but my right knee swelled, and that's the way it's been for years. I now have been diagnosed with arthritis in my knees and hips, so it is not so much fun anymore trying to walk. I tried biking and it's better but I have lost my incentive.
The doctor tells me now that I really need a knee replacement since I’m walking bone on bone and it is achy and makes me feel like an old women. I have recently joined a gym with my husband, (I really like the water aerobics), and we will be getting personal instruction for a week to get us started on a road map of machines to help us build up and strengthen our muscles and hopefully get me back in shape in order to be ready for surgery.
In the meanwhile what else can I do to beat the battle of the bulge at 59? Any suggestions, I want to have more energy I have 7 grandkids, and I would like to keep up with them and enjoy them. I know I should have not let myself get like this but hindsight is my only excuse. Thanks for any helpful hints, Pat S.
Dear P.S. ~ I am sorry for your pain, both physical and emotional. Hindsight is an interesting thing, isn't it? Safe to say, best to leave it behind you and start now, in this very moment, renewed. You are 59 years young and blessed with lots more life to go, a supportive husband, 7 grandkids and a nearby pool! Good, good, good! So much going for you!
The best way to fight the battle of the bulge is to jump into life head first! In addition to your swimming, how else might you build energy, strength and stamina? What foods are you eating? What do you feed your grandchildren (curious!)? What interests are you cultivating? Any hobbies? What brings you joy? Take my Happiness Quiz. And then let me know, what is stopping you, what is weighing you down? Weight loss a.k.a. permanent fat removal is not about the fat; it's about your life. Change your view of your life and your body will follow. ~ OLofWL

Righteous Recipe
Banana On a Stick! No matter how many times I tell Peter (husband) to just buy 2 or 3 bananas at a time, he insists upon bringing home a full bunch. They ripen fast and then we're left with mushy bananas! So, I was really excited when the lightbulb went off and I decided to make these. Plus, this recipe brought out the kid in both of us. Fun to make; fun to eat. Healthy!
Let me know if it brings out the kid in you, and if your kids/grandkids, neighbor's kids like B-on-S, too!
Ingredients: 1/2 banana, peeled * 2 tablespoons reduced fat milk * 1/4 c. Grape Nuts cereal, crushed to crumbs *Dash of ground cinnamon & ground nutmeg. Also needed: ice cream sticks!
Instructions: Insert ice cream stick into the cut end of the banana * Dip the banana in milk and then roll in grapenut crumbs and cinnamon/nutmeg mix. * Wrap in plastic. * Freeze! * Eat!!!
What's your fav HEALTHY recipe, low fat, low cal? Send to OLofWL for possible publication! Woo Hoo, FUN!
