Fruit2O - vitamin water without the calories! I attended an event this week at a nearby spa, and I was given 4 bottles of Fruit2O water to take home with me, taste and blog about. Fun, yes???!!! Anyway, I put the various flavored water bottles (Mango, Lime, Blueberry, Peach) in the fridge to get nice n' icy cold. Last night, after a long, fabulous walk (3 miles!), I went to grab me a bottle and it was all gone! Peter (husband) drank it all. When confronted he said, "Oh yeah, I drank it. Liked it, too!" So - this week's hot pick comes from Peter! Enjoy!!!

Happiness Centered Approach to Weight Loss
Hi Tushketeers ~
Can you believe it? Barbie is 50! She looks pretty good, I have to say, and I do love her glasses! She sure knows how to take care of herself. And speaking of taking care of oneself ... I've been thinking about the current money situation that we're all feeling in one way or another.
Money's tight, all right. In the face of all this scaling back, I want to remind everyone to remember to take good care of your psychological and physical well-being. You will be that much the stronger, healthier and happier for it.
Of course, there are many ways to invest in yourself. From taking a hot bath and indulging in some 'time out,' to listening to (f*r*e*e) Teleseminars, to making an investment in going to a retreat that proves to be just the restorative experience you've been thirsting for.

Our Lady of Weight Loss takes a happiness centered approach to weight loss. It is her mission to make weight loss fun ... to make weight loss a joyful experience. Here follows ten of her top tips that she feels will up your energy, keep you focused and help you to happily melt fat.
Ten Tips to Happiness Centered Weight Loss
1. BALANCE: Permanent weight loss is about living a balanced life. It's about looking at all areas of your life - physical health, mental health, relationships, finances, career, fun, creativity, spirituality, physical environment, time - and creating them so that they support YOU to have the best life ever.
Focusing only on weight loss will not serve you well. You may lose it; but without creating balance in all areas of your life, you will in all likelihood find it again. We're talking PERMANENT WEIGHT LOSS here!
2. COMMITMENT: Make a commitment to YOU, all of you, every aspect of you. Losing weight won't fix what's wrong with your finances. Gathering buckets of money won't help you to lose weight. Commit to giving yourself the best life that you can. Do this for YOU and your body!
3. THE SCALE: Do NOT get hung up on the number on the scale.
Do you know what the scale really measures - scientifically that is? Every object in the universe with mass attracts every other object with mass. (Some more massive than others!) Therefore, there is a pull - a force - an attraction ) between you and the Earth. Your bathroom scale measures gravitational pull!!
Nowhere in scientific date - that I could find - does it state that the scale measures HIDEOUS FAT. Nor does it say that you are BAD!
4. VISIONING: Envision your compelling future. What would you ultimately like your life to be like? See every detail. From where you would live, what you would do, what you are wearing! See, feel, hear and smell (if you can! Perhaps the honeysuckle in the air; or the slicing of a lemon.) every aspect of this clear picture. Write it down. And now make it come true. One step at a time.
5. SAFE HAVEN: Keeping your home clear of the Devil's Food, red light items, things that send you off on a binge is essential! Making your home a safe haven affords you an opportunity to establish healthy, solid habits. It is essential that you create an environment that supports your permanent fat removal efforts; a place where you are as free as possible from excessive food thoughts.

Dear OLofWL ~ I read your website and I must say that I feel uplifted!! Thank you. I do have a question though ... I'm in my I'm in my early forty's and overweight by approximately twenty-pounds. I've tried everything; even the newest craze "Acai Berry" and the Probiotics Cleanse. I've lost only a few pounds. My concern is this: I'm trying to eat more healthy (I used to just live off of "Mountain Dew" and coffee with an occasional bite to eat while I was cooking for the kids for years ~ no lie!!) but I don't take in more than 800-calories a day. Dear Ang and anyone else out there who is eating too little!!! ~ I know it is counter-intuitive, but eating too little only serves to slow down your metabolism, thus making it more difficult to lose weight. Eating between 1200 to 1600 calories per day is a healthy 'losing' level, depending on how much you want to lose. You need fuel to keep your metabolism burning! Eat healthy first and foremost!!! ~ OLofWL

Righteous Recipe
Leeky Chicken Soup - Leeks are in SEASON!! Rejoice!!!! This recipe is from my book, All Is Forgiven, Move On. Yes!!! That's right. There are recipes in the book, too! Go know!!! And they are delicious!
Ingredients: 2 tablespoons olive oil * 10 medium leeks, trimmed, sliced, and well-washed (approx. 2 cups) *2 large baking potatoes, grated *2 medium carrots, grated *1 bunch parsley, chopped * 8 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth (There are some great brands now that are organic and low-sodium.) * Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.
Instructions: Heat the oil in a 6-quart pot over medium heat. * Add the leeks, potatoes and carrots. * Sauté until softened, 5 to 10 minutes. (If you feel that you need more oil, try adding a bit of water instead.) * Add the parsley, broth, salt, and pepper. * Bring to a boil. * Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered for about 40 minutes or until tender. Serves 6.
