It's been a busy week. In addition to celebrating my daughter's birthday (we are officially the same age, so do not even go there!), the FILL UP ON HAPPINESS e-diet cure officially kicked off. People are groovin' on the plan; reporting mind-blowing and fat-blowing insights, as well as visible changes. Plain Jane permanently removed 7 pounds and her "Evil Twin" (the voice within her head that tells her to eat!!!) has quieted down!

I’ve been wearing a fat suit since birth. (Or was – best to be aware of the words we use and how they affect our unconscious minds and behaviors!) Yes, I was the only baby who gained weight in the hospital nursery, an ominous sign, and by the time I was 8 years old, I weighed 112 pounds. Thankfully my friend Belinda (name changed to protect the innocent) weighed 113 pounds. She was the fat one! And the rest is FATstory, as they say!
You could say that wearing a fat suit was my identity. It was all I’d ever known. I was the fat girl. I was the fat girl who was always (and I mean always) picked last in gym. I was the girl that the kids called “Fatty Lu.” I was fat. Some of us are born with ‘fat issues;’some collect them along the way.
I understand that we want to lose that weight soooo badly that we can taste it! (HA!) But if you don’t know the person who resides underneath the fat, if you so closely identify with the excess layers, if the fat is protecting ‘you’ in any way, shape or form, it is difficult to imagine any other weigh.
These excess layers of fat keep you safe from:
- Unwanted sexual advances,
- Pressure to succeed in a career,
- Not liking who you are,
- Being rejected for reasons other than being fat,
- Being truly unhappy (what is you are thin and look at your new self and are stillunhappy?)
- Embarrassment of not being able to play sports … and more!
What do those extra layers do for you?
At the end of the day, both literally and figuratively (how do you feel at the end of each and every day? and how will you feel at the living end?), holding onto your ‘fat identity’, being paralyzed by fear, is NOT living.
What to do?
Change your lifestyle, as slowly and safely as possible, allowing these small changes to start to move you toward a happy identity!

Chewing the Fat
Dear OLoWL, After having what can only be described as a "meltdown," I realized that I had been spreading myself too thin :) ... and it was making me fat:) Between work, a three year old, and a husband, I have been putting myself last. The end result was a very tired woman! There was no time because, like you said (in last week's Chewing the Fat), I was not making the time!
I don't know why I didn't think about it before, but all I needed to do was re-read your book, "All Is Forgiven, Move On!" I bought it the day it came out and read it front to back that very first day. While reading it, I was saying to myself, "So true sister!" I shifted into a great place (both mentally and physically).
I'm going to use it as a motivational tool. Re-read it a few more times I think:) Thank you so much for the perspective! I will be doing some prioritizing in my life this week - and putting me first! ~ EM
Dear EM ~ How wonderful that last week's Chewing the Fat clicked with you and helped you to change your thinking! Yes, first you change your thinking and the rest follows! If you are thinking self-defeating thoughts, then negative emotions will be triggered, triggering you to eat and the result is NOT the desired result, for sure! So - yay! You took responsibility for your thinking; for motivating yourself and happily (woo hoo, Praise Be!), you did it by reading All Is Forgiven, Move On again! Remember everyone: We Must MOTIVATE Ourselves Daily! Daily! Daily!

Chicken Soup on the Cheap n' Easy from KITT Club Member in Good Standing: Suzie M!!!
This is my kind of recipe: fast, easy, cheap and OLofWL approved. Gather up, mix together and heat in medium-sized pot: White meat from rotisserie chicken, organic chicken broth from the box, diced celery, carrots and (secret ingredient ... ) angel hair pasta, a few petite peas and VOILA!
