Greetings Tushkateers!I woke up a the lumpy side of the bed this morning. I'm not entirely sure what that means ('lumpy' just came to me). I wasn't blue, nor was I gray; I wasn't bouncing out of bed, nor dragging ... just lumpy. Lying there waiting for a huge burst of energy to ignite me but no. But then I remembered the power of music.
Music activates the same feel good center of the brain that food does!!! So I cued up Chelsea Morning, one of my all time favorite songs. Have you listened to the lyrics? So amazingly poetic. Here's the link. Listen, ingest the good vibes and then come back and listen up, 'cause I have news that will help you lighten up!!!
The NEWS: The 21 Day Cure (spring edition) ended on Sunday. And it was a MAJOR success! The participants did blow said fat cells out of their minds, as they changed their belief systems, their perspectives on life, their feelings about themselves, and some even added healthy foods to their daily food plan! Imagine that!!!
Since it is abundantly clear that one cannot change much without first being happy (or happy enough), the next 21 Day Cure is dedicated to happiness! Drum roll ... please!!!
And AGAIN!!!! My OMEGA WORKSHOP is two weeks away. For goodness sake, what are you waiting for???? :) Sign up for "Our Lady of Weight Loss EnLIGHTens: Health, Happiness and Well Being!" I'm not usually insistent about these things, but I know that these workshops at Omega are amazing!!!!! Life-changing; mind-changing; fat-changing. Recently, my husband and I visited with my father's brother, Uncle Sy. Uncle Sy is in his late eighties, and he is one very cool cat. He listens to jazz, wears a red pocket square, and he serves a mean Bloody Mary.
Halfway through the 2nd round of said mind-altering heavily vodka'ed beverage, Uncle Sy began to wax poetically about his childhood. He shared one enchanting tale after the next, peppered with family photos and memorabilia. But, as all good things must come to an end, so did this happy afternoon.... Read On!

In the final episode of "House," Hannah died of 'fat embolism,' which was apparently caused by an amputation operation. Weight Loss Counseling is a tax deduction!
I'd mentioned in the last KICK that Weight Loss Counseling is a tax deduction. A bunch of y'all wrote me, asking for more info. So ... here follows an excerpt from the IRS website. Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway - I am not an accountant. You definitely should check with your accountant to make sure all the 'i's are dotted and 't's crossed, and then write me for a free consult!
Here's what the IRS site said: You can include in medical expenses amounts you pay to lose weight if it is a treatment for a specific disease diagnosed by a physician (such as obesity, hypertension, or heart disease). This includes fees you pay for membership in a weight reduction group, weight loss counseling as well as fees for attendance at periodic meetings. You cannot include membership dues in a gym, health club, or spa as medical expenses, but you can include separate fees charged there for weight loss activities.

Joke of the Week from Tushkateer
and Director of Jokes, Marsha Coleman
When children come in to the doctor's office where I work, it's my
job to weigh and measure them. After several unsuccessful attempts
to get one frightened three-year-old on the scale, her mother said,
"Honey, Mommy has a scale at home. Do like I do and stand on it."
Recognition dawned on the child's face and she confidently stepped
on the scale, looked down and exclaimed, "Oh, sh*t!"
Hi Tushkateers, Want to play " Chew on This?" We played it big time on Day 18 of "The 21 Day Cure: Blow the Fat Cells Out of Your Mind (Spring Edition)." Here's how it goes. I tossed out some very powerful, motivating and inspiring quotes to the 21 Day Cure peeps, and they, in turn, tossed some back at me. We mulled them over, chewed on them, explored their meaning, discovered a few hidden truths about ourselves, and then we framed them! (See today's Weight Loss Art - top of page ... OMG, it's so big, what do you mean you don't see it???)
In addition to the one above submitted by Chris C., I'd like to share a few others as well as Mary Beth L's quote "Look where you are going, NOT where you have been" and her delightful email!
"Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending."
~ Maria Robinson
"We are all basically the same human beings, who seek happiness and try to avoid suffering. Everybody is my peer group. Your feeling "I am of no value" is wrong. Absolutely wrong."
~ The Dalai Lama
"Man is the only creature that refuses to be what he is." ~ Albert Camus
Dear Our Lady of Weight Loss ~
Years ago my hubby, 2 daughters and I were walking in the mall. Our youngest daughter Katie was always looking around, most often behind her, but not ever where she was going. She happened to turn forward but not in time to see the fire extinguisher that was hanging on the wall. She ran into it, bringing an immediate knot to the middle of her forehead; knocking her to the floor. Pretty hard hit. What came out of my mouth was "Look where you are going, not where you have been."
That has become a frequent saying around our house. But think about it, it applies to a lot of things in life. If we are always looking back where we have been, we are not going to see the "fire extinguishers" in life and we will smack into them...often times knocking our selves back down to the floor. But if we "Watch where we are going" we will see the extinguisher on the wall. It won't always help see everything, speed bumps, potholes, curbs, but it will help with the things that knock us on our ass.
So my quote that I will put in my frame is "Look where you are going, NOT where you have been." ~ Mary Beth L.
Need to talk to a 'trained ear,' someone who can hear what you are saying and help you turn it around and get your upward spiral in motion? Write Janice, Life & Wellness Coach, for more information about her (telephone) coaching sessions and ask about her 4-week program.
It's not about your fat; it's about your life! I am inviting you to step out of your fat suit and into life!
