FocusFirst will sponsor two Alternative Spring Break trips in 2008. Participating students will conduct high-tech vision screenings in daycare centers and Head Starts in rural communities in either southwest Alabama or in the northwest corner of the state. Students will also engage in discussion and analysis of their service, and have the opportunity to participate in activities such as beach trips, hiking, and horseback riding.

Join the Impact Staff
Impact will have one full-time AmeriCorps VISTA position available at the beginning of Januay 2008 and several positions open in July 2008. For these positions, Impact seeks highly motivated, talented college graduates who can implement and oversee two nationally unique initiatives: FocusFirst aand SaveFirst. These programs are based upon a collaboration with sixteen colleges and universities across the state of Alabama.

WHAT: FocusFirst Alternative Spring Break 2008
WHEN: March 16th-20th, 2008.
WHERE: Northwest and Southeast Alabama. Choose your own adventure!
WHY: To provide critically needed vision screenings to children living in urban and rural poverty in Alabama
